APMC members meet DC
ITANAGAR, Nov 5: Outlining the status of APMC in the capital region, Capital Complex DC Mige Kamki informed the APMC members on the immense importance of APMC in regulating the fruits, vegetables, meat and fish market in the capital region.
In the first meeting of the newly selected members of the APMC Capital Complex held at Chairman APMC cum DC Itanagar Capital Complex chamber today, Kamki also emphasised upon the improvement of the quality of APMC products in the capital as the standard of living has gone up but consumers are compelled to buy daily essential items from the road side/footpath vendors. He strongly urged the members to work for the benefit for consumers in the capital by exercising the power conferred upon in the Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Produce Marketing (Regulation) 1989.
Kamki also directed the APMC members to initiate required action for APMC check gates and assured of support from administrative department.
Further, he also suggested for cooperating with members from line departments such as Animal Husbandry and Fisheries so as to physically check the live animals and fishes at the entry point for the benefit of consumers in the capital region.
Speaking on the occasion, APMC member secretary, Okit Palling informed that under Agriculture Marketing Network (Agmarknet) APMCs have to undertake daily reporting of prevailing rates of products under APMC, Quantity of Produce brought into the market, produce exported out of state boundary, numbers of license issued to vendors and wholesaler etc., which is to be collected only if the APMC check gates are functional.

DA to evict roadside nuisances
ITANAGAR, Nov 5: The Capital Complex administration will be carrying out an eviction drive on Nov 7 to seize and confiscate bamboo, firewood and other roadside nuisances along the National Highway.
Capital Complex DC, Mige Kamki informed this in a meeting to review security scenario in the Capital Complex for the ensuing festival season. Executive magistrates would be carrying out eviction drive from Chandra Nagar to 6 km of Itanagar, Papu Happa to Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa.
The meeting took note that various construction materials/ debris/ bamboos/ firewood etc lying beside the roads are causing nuisance to the public especially school children and pedestrians preventing free movement. Further, such nuisance can endanger human life and add to the traffic woes in the Capital complex, added the meeting.
All administrative and police officers of the Capital Complex participated in the meeting.
Briefing on the law and order scenario, the DC informed that by and large the Capital Complex till now is peaceful and encouraged the administrative officers and police to work in coordination with each other to maintain peace and tranquility in the Capital Complex. DIPRO

Speaking on the occasion, DIPRO Denhang Bosai urged the teachers to be well updated, trained and dutiful saying that with the advent of time their onus and challenges has increased with the multiplication of programmes in the education system according to the needs of the students and the society at large.
While dwelling at length on the education scenario from the ancient Gurukul system to the present education pattern, Bosai told the trainees that a teacher must be a good communicator and said that such a training programme provides them the scope to hone their communication skills.

DAPORIJO, Nov 5: The Dulom Youth Welfare Association (DYWA) has registered protest against the Siyum Nacho Lemiking Students’ Union and Rural Women Welfare Society Nacho for allegedly trying to safeguard the alleged culprit involved in a doctor’s assault at Nacho on Oct 15.
The DYWA has appealed Home Minister Tanga Byaling to immediately expedite the case at the earliest as possible.

ITANAGAR, Nov 5: Claiming that All Tawang Youth Association has made a demand to the Tawang DC for destruction of three churches in Tawang on the ground that the locality is inhabited by 100% Buddhist, the Arunachal Christian Forum (ACF) has appealed the Home Minister to intervene and direct the DC not to pay heed to the demand.
Condemning the demand, ACF in a letter to Home Minister said “to accede to that demand is to deny the Christian Government employees and businessmen of Tawang a legitimate place of worship.” They cannot be denied their constitutional right to practice the religion of their choice, the Forum added.

ITANAGAR, Nov 5: All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) has expressed dissatisfaction over the clarification given by the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh JP Rajkhowa on Greenfield Airport, Hollongi and demanded public apology from him besides resignation of Leader of Opposition(BJP) Tamiyo Taga.
Addressing the media persons at Press Club here today, ANSU President, Byabang Joram said ‘the integrity of Constitutional head of the state is very much doubtful as his clarification on the Airport issue is not clear.’ Indeed, the letter written by Governor to PM for scrapping the proposed Greenfield Airport at Hollongi and upgradation of Lilabari airport in Assam is questionable’ said Joram.
He further said that it is the government of India’s policy to have at least one Airport in each state of the country and accordingly the state government is rigorously pursuing the matter with Union Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Stating that letter of the governor for scrapping the development project of the state has hurt the sentiments of 13 lakh people of Arunachal Pradesh, the ANSU leader said the technical committee has already cleared Hollongi site for airport project and if there is any issue involving compensation, it can be resolved as per Land Acquisition Act. NSUI unhappy with Governor’s clarification
The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) Arunachal Pradesh state Unit condemned the clarification of the Governor JP Rajkowa on Airport project as unsatisfactory. Instead of begging public apology, the Governor hit upon the state political leaders, pleaded to the PM Modi for CBI enquiry against the state Chief Minister which is an unjustified political motive, the NSUI said adding his letter to the Prime Minister itself clearly shows that his motive is to hurt the sentiment of indigenous tribal and against the development of Arunachal Pradesh.

ITANAGAR, Nov 5: The SSA Project Director, Opak Gao reiterated the need for organizing more training programme on Braille, Sign Language and Curriculum Adaptation and said that SSA (AP) is trying to provide various facilities under the programme so that more number of children with special needs (CWSN) are included in mainstream schools.
He was addressing participants from all districts in the training programme on Braille, Sign Language and Curriculum Adaptation on NCERT materials organized by the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Rajya Mission at Science Centre here today.
The training was aimed at facilitating inclusive practices in school and to sensitize on concepts of inclusion for resource person for CWSN and teachers of all districts.
Stating that the resource persons need to make an extra effort to address the needs of CWSN in an inclusive classroom setup, State Coordinator Inclusive Education SSA, Rajya Mission, Techi Pratap suggested using inclusive pedagogical practices and curricular adaptations while teaching them.
Deputy State Project Director Likha Sampu also said that the resource persons for CWSN and teachers should first understand their responsibility towards the children’s academic development and their inclusion in school with all possible facilities provided by the GoI.
During the training, theoretical lectures were conducted by experts from Himalayan University, State Pedagogy unit SSA besides, two days practical exposure of participants at Doni Polo Mission School for Hearing and Visual Impairment.
ITANAGAR, Nov 5: Reacting to the press statement of the state BJP, the Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress (APYC) has strongly condemned it.
In a release, APYC spokesperson, Niglar Veo questioned that what was the logic behind the BJP demanding the Congress to prove majority? The BJP does not have any legitimate ground to make such a silly demand. If the BJP does not desist from such political indulgence, it would be understood to the people that the BJP is working hand in glove with some expelled MLAs to destabilize the democratically elected Govt. and to disturb the developmental process of the state, added the release.
APYC also appealed all apolitical institutions not to involve and interfere into the local party politics and also appealed the BJP and other political parties to refrain from indulging in cheap politics which will hamper the development and tranquility of the state.
Citing the Greenfield Airport fiasco, APYC alleged that the BJP is trying all out efforts to misuse and misguide the Raj Bhawan. People of the state have the highest expectation that the incumbent would protect the sanctity and stature of the institution and would not allow any group or political party to use for their vested and political end, it added.
The release further stated the state has limited working period and the BJP should rather ask the state and central Govt. to release the funds in time, particularly of the prioritized sectors so that the projects are achieved before the expiry of the working season.

In its letter written to the regional officer, ministry of road transport and highway calling for construction of the road according to the concession agreement (CA), the union claimed that the executing agency Sushee IVRCL Arunachal Highways Limited has diverted from the CA which is the existing BRO road and is not as per submission of project highway alignment plan/strip plan in segment 1E between Sede to Pakro which is 31kms.
Both the AP PWD (highway) and the agency is playing double standard with some vested interest persons for their own benefit by making shortcut from Sede to Veo of 12/15 kms only, the letter reads calling for constructing the road according to the CA.
The union further demanded that an enquiry committee be set up to look into the negligence.
Arunachal team to join national ‘Kala Utsav’

RUKSIN, Nov 5: A team of young artistes comprising 40 members from the state headed by Delong Padung is set to participate at the national level Kala Utsav in New Delhi next month. The cultural programme is being conducted under RAMSA project.
Padung informed that four government higher secondary schools have been selected from the state for participation in the national level cultural festival.
The Kala Utsav is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to promote arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of their school students at the secondary stage in the country. The event will provide opportunity for students of class IX to XII from government aided schools. The cultural items to be presented in the national festival are theatre, folk dance, music and weaving related activities.

Around 70 athletes, including archers participated in the trial camp aimed at identifying hidden talents in various sports disciplines. Deputy Commissioner Mamata Riba was also present during the selection trial to encourage the sportspersons.

Under such circumstance, I feel that the claims of the Heema Hospital to perform the first ‘Maxillo Facial Surgery’ is fallacious to the fact that such operations has been already performed successfully by me. It is my humble request and will be of highly appreciable gesture if your esteem daily issues a corrigendum in this regard.

Please don’t compromise with quality
Dear Editor,
This is in reference to the news item published today under the headline, “AACWA alleges poor work quality, demands constant monitoring.” The contractor association deserves kudos for raising such an important issue. It is for everyone to see the kind of work PWD highway is executing at the movement. The state government has provided massive Rs 10 crore for road widening work. However the quality of work is questionable. The contractor association has taken an important step by criticizing the work of their fellow contractor.
If every Arunachalee contractors develop such patriotic feeling, sure, the work quality will improve which help the state in the long run. The AACWA should continue to pursue the matter and put pressure on PWD highway so that quality is not compromised in the ongoing road widening cum repairing work. The citizens of capital complex strongly support the step initiated by AACWA. We too will squarely blame PWD (Highway) if quality is compromised and we will be forced to make our own assumption in this regard. On behalf, of every conscious citizen of capital complex I appeal PWD minister Gojen Gadi, Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi and PWD Highway Chief Bora Ete to make sure that quality is not compromised in the ongoing road widening cum repairing work. We have patiently waited for repairing work to start with the hope that situation will improve. If things do not improve, we will be forced to hit the streets. Please don’t underestimate the power of common man.
